Set Up the Customer Gang Sheet Builder
Let customers build their own gang sheets on your storefront — upload art, drag and drop, pay, done.
The customer gang sheet builder lets your customers create their own gang sheets directly on your storefront. They upload artwork, drag and drop onto a real-size canvas, see live pricing, and add to cart.
This is perfect for customers who already have print-ready artwork and just need transfers printed.
What customers experience
- They open the Gang Sheet Builder on your storefront
- They see a real-size canvas with rulers (e.g., 22" × 60")
- They upload their artwork files
- They drag each design onto the canvas and position it
- They see live pricing update as they fill the sheet
- They add to cart and check out
You print exactly what they've built — no back-and-forth, no quoting needed.
Step 1: Enable the gang sheet builder
Go to PodOS → Settings → Self-Service Tools.
Toggle Customer Gang Sheet Builder to ON.
Step 2: Set available sheet sizes
Define which sheet sizes customers can choose from:
| Size | Width | Max Length | Use case |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small | 13" | 19" | Single design or small batch |
| Standard | 22" | 60" | Most common DTF size |
| Wide | 24" | 72" | Large-format printers |
Customers select their sheet size before building.
Step 3: Set pricing
Choose your pricing model:
- Per square inch — uses your decoration rate (e.g., $0.11/sqin). Price updates live as the customer fills the sheet.
- Per linear foot — charge by length regardless of how full the sheet is (e.g., $X per foot of 22"-wide film)
- Flat per sheet — one price per full sheet
The price shows on the builder canvas so customers know exactly what they'll pay.
Step 4: Set artwork requirements
- Min DPI — reject low-res files (150+ DPI recommended)
- Accepted formats — PNG (recommended), JPEG, PDF
- Background removal required — require transparent backgrounds (or guide them to PrepOS)
- Max file size — prevent huge uploads from slowing things down
Step 5: Configure the canvas
Set how the canvas behaves:
- Snap to grid — artwork snaps to alignment guides
- Minimum gap — enforce spacing between designs (matching your printer needs)
- Allow overlap — usually OFF (overlapping prints ruin both)
How gang sheet orders flow into production
When a customer checks out with a gang sheet:
- The order creates in your Production Hub
- The gang sheet is already built (the customer did it!)
- It goes directly to your Print Queue
- You print, QC, and ship the transfers
No gang sheet arrangement needed on your end. The customer did the work.
Tips
- Great for repeat customers — businesses that order transfers regularly love building their own sheets
- Promote it — add it to your storefront navigation and link from your "How It Works" section
- Artwork library — customers can save artwork to their library and reuse it across multiple gang sheets
- Review option — if you want to QC customer-built sheets before printing, enable "Require Approval" in settings. You review before it hits the print queue.
- Pair with PrepOS — customers who upload messy files can use PrepOS tools in their portal to clean up artwork before building their gang sheet
