Create Discount Codes

Set up percentage, fixed-amount, or free-shipping discount codes for your storefront.

Discount codes let you run promotions on your storefront. Customers enter a code at checkout and get a discount automatically.

Step 1: Open discount settings

Go to PodOS → Settings → Discounts (or find it under your Storefront settings).

Step 2: Create a new code

Click New Discount Code and fill in:

The basics

  • Code — what customers type (e.g., WELCOME10, SUMMER25, FREESHIP)
  • Type — choose one:
    • Percentage — takes a % off (e.g., 10% off)
    • Fixed amount — takes a dollar amount off (e.g., $5 off)
    • Free shipping — waives shipping cost

The amount

  • For percentage: enter the % (e.g., 10 for 10% off)
  • For fixed: enter the dollar amount (e.g., 5 for $5 off)
  • For free shipping: no amount needed

Limits (optional)

  • Minimum order amount — code only works if the cart is above $X
  • Maximum uses (total) — how many times the code can be used total
  • Maximum uses per customer — how many times one person can use it
  • Expiration date — code stops working after this date
  • Applies to — all products, specific products only, or gang sheets only

Step 3: Save and share

Click Save. The code is immediately active on your storefront.

Share it however you want:

  • Instagram story
  • Email newsletter
  • Printed on packaging ("Use code COMEBACK15 on your next order!")
  • Announcement bar on your storefront

How customers use it

At checkout on your storefront:

  1. Customer sees a "Discount Code" field
  2. They enter your code
  3. The discount applies and the total updates
  4. They complete checkout with the reduced price

The discount shows on the order and invoice so you can see it was applied.

Tips

  • One code at a time — customers can only use one code per checkout, so make each one worthwhile
  • Track performance — PressOS shows how many times each code has been used and total discount given
  • Expiration creates urgency — "Use code FLASH20 — expires Friday!" gets people to order now
  • Limit per customer — set max 1 use per customer for welcome codes so people don't abuse them
