Your First Gang Sheet

Auto-arrange approved artwork onto a print-ready gang sheet — sized to your DTF printer.

This guide walks you through building your first gang sheet in GangOS. You'll take approved artwork and arrange it onto a print-ready film layout automatically.

Step 1: Open GangOS

Click GangOS in your sidebar. You'll see:

  • A list of pending prints (artwork that's been approved and paid for)
  • Your gang sheet canvas

Step 2: Select prints to include

Your approved artwork shows up in the pending queue automatically. Select which prints to include on this gang sheet:

  • Check individual prints, or
  • Click Select All to include everything in the queue

Each print shows:

  • The artwork thumbnail
  • Print dimensions (width × height)
  • Quantity needed
  • Which order it belongs to

Step 3: Choose your sheet size

Select your film size:

  • Width — matches your printer (13", 22", 24", or custom)
  • Length — set a max or let GangOS calculate the optimal length

If you've already configured your printer specs in Settings, the correct sheet size is pre-selected.

Step 4: Auto-arrange

Click Auto-Arrange and GangOS packs your prints onto the sheet:

  • Tight nesting to minimize waste
  • Proper spacing/gaps between prints
  • Multiple copies of the same design grouped together
  • Respects your configured gap setting

You'll see the arrangement on the canvas with a utilization percentage — how much of the film is being used.

Step 5: Review

Look over the gang sheet:

  • All prints are present and accounted for
  • Nothing is overlapping or cut off
  • The layout makes sense for cutting after printing

Tip: You can manually drag prints to reposition them if needed, but the auto-arrangement handles most cases perfectly.

Step 6: Export

Click Export to generate your print-ready file:

  • PNG — most common for RIP software
  • PDF — if your RIP prefers it

The file is sized exactly to your sheet dimensions, ready to send to your RIP and start printing.

Step 7: Send to print queue

After exporting, the gang sheet moves to your Print Queue. From there:

  1. Assign it to a printer
  2. Print the film
  3. Move to Film QC when done
  4. Then on to pressing

Every print on the gang sheet stays connected to its original order. When you cut and press, PressOS knows which customer gets which transfer.

Auto-generation (optional)

You can set GangOS to auto-build gang sheets when invoices are paid:

  • Go to Settings → Production
  • Enable Auto-generate gang sheets on payment

This means paid orders automatically get their gang sheets built and queued — zero manual work.

Tips

  • Multi-order batching — combine prints from different orders onto one sheet to maximize film usage
  • Check waste — if utilization is low, wait for more prints to queue up before printing
  • Reprint easy — if a film fails QC, regenerate the gang sheet with one click
